Yes, Virginia, There Really is a Fuel Cell Car
Sunday October 22, 2006
Honda Motor Company has unveiled the most recent version of its long anticipated FCX Concept fuel cell vehicle. This low-slung beauty gives a comfortable ride in its spacious cabin thanks to a fuel cell stack that is 20 percent smaller than its predecessor. Similar improvements in the car’s drive motor, gearbox and lithium ion battery pack have combined to make the car lighter, more energy-efficient and provide longer driving range.
Yes, each rendition of this car gets better and better. When limited production units finally hit the roads in the United States and Japan in 2008, the long-promised fuel cell car will be a reality. Stay tuned.
And, we’re curious—would you consider buying a fuel cell vehicle?
