The LA Auto Show—Crank Up the Alternatives

The LA Auto Show is now open—and this one will feature more alternative fuel vehicles than ever before. Feeling pressure from public demand for more alternative fuel choices, manufacturers will be previewing vehicles powered by ethanol, biodiesel and hydrogen. But that’s not all—there will be new models of hybrids, a whole new breed of ultra clean diesels, plus some electrics thrown in too.
This is good and exciting news! While manufacturers were slow and somewhat reluctant to get on board, growing public demand has increased their motivation and these new vehicles show that development is spooling up—we expect to see more and more available not far down the road. The excitement at the show must be palpable. But if you can’t be there, and you still really want to find out what’s available right here, right now for 2007—check ‘em out:
