Maintenance Tips for Your Gasser

Monday January 22, 2007
As in propane or natural gasser. Some folks tend to think of gasoline powered vehicles as gassers. Heck, most folks call gasoline “gas.” It’s not of course, at least not while it’s sloshing around back there in your fuel tank. It sounds funny though—to hear people say gasoline, as in “I have to stop and put gasoline in my car.” So we forgive them and welcome the universally accepted nickname.

Well, call ‘em what you want, meanwhile we’ve put together a maintenance article for natural gas and propane powered vehicles, and it’s aimed at the couple of areas where these vehicles differ sharply from their gasoline counterparts. Take a look at the Natural Gas and Propane Vehicle Maintenance article and find out how the gas is stored and what its burn characteristics mean for your engine.

It appears that now, more than ever, customers are asking about alternate fuel vehicles. I still think it will take another 5-10 years for it to catch on in a large way.

It’s good to hear that your customers are asking about alternative fuel vehicles, and you’re right that it’ll take several years for alternatives to become more mainstream. It often comes down to dollars, so a good sustained spike in gasoline and diesel prices could finally swing the pendulum in alternative fuels’ favor.

Thanks for your comments Andrew and thanks for visiting our site.
