You’ve got another chance. At a hybrid, that is—and at grabbin’ some tax credits too.

Just think—you can buy a cool new car, get 40 mpg and a cool $2350 off your tax return. Nissan has released for sale in America a hybrid version of their popular Altima model. This baby is the first hybrid built in the United States by a Japanese auto manufacturer, and comes equipped with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine in conjunction with the electric motor and continuously variable transmission (CVT) for a healthy power output of 198 horsepower.

For sale initially only in the eight states that have adopted California’s emission standards (CA, CT, ME, MA, NJ, NY, RI and VT), look for this Altima full hybrid to stack up well against its hybrid competition, the Honda Accord Hybrid and the Toyota Camry Hybrid. Go ahead—isn’t it time to burn a few kilowatts instead of a few gallons?
