Road test: 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid

Wednesday August 8, 2007
Muscle hybrids. Familiar with 'em yet? They are the next generation of hybrids. Not only do they offer more bang for your buck, they combine performance and fuel economy for those of us who like to drive and have a green conscience. Can we have our cake and eat it too? Or is it just plain crazy to take a V-6 and go hybrid with it?

Well, we spent a week livin' with the '07 Honda Accord V-6 Hybrid. Find out whether we say yay or nay to this hybrid in our 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid Review, along with the 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid photo gallery - yep, you even get to see the ins and outs of this car ... we grabbed some special shots you won't find anywhere else.

Nice review! Didn’t Honda drop the Hybrid Accord after 2007?

Yes, it’s true that 2007 is the last year of production for the hybrid model – apparently the cars didn’t sell well enough and Honda didn’t feel they could justify continued production. They plan to put a diesel in the 2009 Accord. We’re really happy to see that and feel that it’s a good move. Never fear – muscle hybrids for enthusiasts still exist, and while quite a bit pricier, the 2007 Lexus GS 450h and Lexus LS 600h (a V8 hybrid) are available. We also test drove the 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid, and though it’s not considered a muscle hybrid, performed like one, along with getting good fuel mileage.
