Jeep Gets Deeper into Diesel
Thursday November 15, 2007
Good news for diesel lovers! Jeep has recently announced that they will be expanding engine options for their 2008 Grand Cherokee line of SUVs. The Laredo model will now be available with a Mercedes built 3.0-liter V-6 diesel--joining the Limited and Overland models already offering this power plant. Jeep fills these vehicles at the factory with a biodiesel blend.Jeep plans to offer the Laredo at $35,685 in 4x2 trim and $40,905 when decked out as a 4x4. And just to spur diesel sales along, the company has further decided to cut $1000 off the price of its Grand Cherokee Limited and Overland diesels. According to Automotive News, Jeep spokesman John Plecha says, "By expanding engine availability and reducing existing prices, we hope that more consumers will be encouraged to take advantage of this clean, renewable fuel..."
We like it--way to go, marketing guys at Jeep!
