Hypermiling (Fuel Economy to the Nth Degree)

Friday January 18, 2008
Hypermiling: Hyper what? (hahy-per-mahyl-ing) So you're thinking ... OK, great, Scott and Christine, you've shown me how to pronounce it, now how 'bout telling me what the heck it is. Right.

Well, you're gonna love this. It's all about getting super-excellent fuel economy from your hybrid ... and we all know how expensive gasoline is, yes? So now perhaps you protest, "But I don't have a hybrid!" Well, that's not entirely a problem. Many of the techniques can be applied to regular ole cars to save fuel too. Maybe not all the tricks will work, and maybe the mileage improvements won't be quite as drastic, but every little bit helps.

Go ahead and read our Hypermiling in a Hybrid article ... try some of the tricks ... and get ready to save some serious gas. And then let us know what you think--is hypermiling worth it?
