Solving Homemade Biodiesel Woes
Friday March 28, 2008
Drove by the gas station yesterday, and seeing the price of diesel fuel, I nearly swerved off the road--had a mini mental coronary. Diesel fuel was an eye-popping $4.25/gallon. Last year at this time it was like $2.69/gallon. Talk about sticker shock ... no wonder we've been fielding more and more questions about homebrewed biodiesel. We've recently been "e-chatting" back and forth with a reader who is new to the homebrew biodiesel scene and making his own biodiesel. He'd run into some problems and emailed us asking for help to figure it all out, so we gave some suggestions and it seems he has it mostly under control now.
What impressed us most about our new friend, Tom, is his tenacity and willingness to stay-the-course while working out the problems that newbie biodieselers often face. We weathered many of the same trials and tribulations when we first started brewing BD in our basement 7 years ago. Read Tom's story. -- Scott
