Diesel Fuel Cetane Number

Monday July 14, 2008
Across America, the price of diesel fuel (ULSD and biodiesel) is pushing—if indeed it hasn’t already surpassed—the 5 buck-a-gallon threshold. So if you have a diesel, maybe ya wanna take a look at the quality of fuel that you’re pumping into the tank. You know, make sure you’re getting your full five smackers worth of performance out of each of those pricey gallons.

So what’s to know? More than anything else, it’s the cetane number of diesel fuel that makes all the difference between a smooth running oil burner (yes, diesel fuel is classified as light oil) and a hard-starting, low-powered smoker.

Popular question–we just wrote an article on this topic, Can You Really Run Your Car on Water? While we don’t think it’s a scam, it’s not quite all that they say it is either.

Hi Emila,

i use water to fuel a car as a supplement to gasoline. In fact,
very little water is needed, only one quart of water provides over 1800
gallons of HHO gas which can literally last for months and significantly
increase your car fuel efficiently, improve emissions quality, and save
money.I found the way through this site http://www.runcarsonwater.us
i really recommend it to everybody, it’s a nice ebook where you can find
the instructions on how to do it! take a look
