Detroit Auto Show 2009: Insight vs. Prius

Two big stars of the hybrid world will be duking it out for who's-the-fuel-sippin'est-hybrid-of-them-all attention at this year's Detroit Auto Show. Eager eyes await Toyota's formal release of the newly redesigned 2010 Generation 3 Prius, while equally curious minds await the back-in-action 2009 Honda Insight.

We've seen unofficial photos of the new, sexier snout on the look-at-me-now Prius, but Toyota has clamped down, and it looks like we'll have to wait till the show's Press Preview opening on January 11 before the company gives us permission to give y'all a look-see. Similar news for the Insight. We have a few pics and some info on Honda's reborn Insight hybrid, but when the company lifts their embargo on January 11, we'll bring you not only snaps galore, but a nice preview test drive to boot.
