In a continued effort to bring its brand into the modern era, Cadillac will be unveiling the Cadillac ELR electric vehicle with extended range at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week.
Hoping to to capitalize on the EV and hybrid luxury niche, Cadillac promises some unique features from the ELR the automaker claims will change the way consumers think of electric cars and luxury vehicles.
Sporting a power train similar to that of the Chevy Volt, the Cadillac ELR is set to hit showroom floors in 2014. While the car has been kept mostly under wraps, the 2014 ELR will clearly cut a new profile and design, right now to its headlights. Expected to be similar in size to the Volt, but with a coupe-style body, the ELR will likely have larger tires and other features that add to a sporty feel. Stay tuned.
