Sure, you probably know that all GEM zero-emission neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs) offer clean, quiet, economical solutions for hauling and transportation needs.

Go Heavy Duty

The engineers at GEM have stepped it up a notch with the addition of the beefier little workaholic eL XD. Think of the XD as eXtra Duty—perfect for when you need to get more work done.

With many of the same functionality and safety specs as its brother, the eL, the XD is fortified with power train and chassis enhancements to improve its driving range and half-ton payload capacity.

2007 GEM eL XD MSRP: $10,995

If you need to haul a little more weight and go a little further between charges, the eL XD steps up to the job:

  • Higher payload capacity, up to 1430 pounds
  • Extended driving range, up to 40 miles
  • Maintenance free gel batteries

Just like the eL, the XD’s performance features the following items:

  • electronically controlled 25-mph top speed
  • low-speed setting allows for 15-mph top speed
  • regenerative braking system improves battery and brake life
  • convenient 110-volt charging—plug into a standard household electrical outlet
  • rack-and-pinion steering
  • fully-independent front and rear suspension for a car-like feel
  • 13-inch street-rated tires
  • Every GEM vehicles comes with a 12-month limited warranty with optional extended service coverage
GEM vehicles may be eligible for tax incentives or rebates—check what’s currently available.
