TDI is Volkswagen-speak for diesel powered. VW Jetta devotees will appreciate that the clean diesel version of their favorite car is rated at 30 mpg in the city, 42 mpg on the highway and 34 combined, or about 24 to 25 percent better than the gasoline-powered version across the board.
The Jetta got a major overhaul for 2011, so there were few changes for the 2012 edition. The roominess continues for 2012 and you'll find comfortable seating for four to five adults, with an interior that appears a bit more spacious than some larger mid- or full-sized vehicles. The car took a price drop for 2012, so expect to miss a few features that used to come standard, yet be a bit surprised over others that are still available.
