Tach's at zero and the "AUTO STOP" indicator is lit, yep, the engine is off. When coming to a stop, the hybrid system shuts off the engine at speeds below 10 mph and puts the vehicle into fuel and emissions saving Auto Stop mode. As long as the brake pedal remains depressed, the engine remains off and the vehicle's control and comfort systems are powered by the hybrid battery. Releasing the brake pedal signals the Integrated Motor Assist system to instantly start the engine, readying the car to move with traffic.
