A hybrid vehicle is exactly what the name implies: a car or truck of mixed composition—an electric motor and an internal combustion engine. Remember, a pure electric car is quite a different animal than a hybrid. Although they do both utilize electricity as the alternative fuel, hybrids use either gasoline or diesel fuel and have a greater range over pure battery-powered electric cars—and in turn offer greater flexibility. The best part of all? Excellent fuel mileage.
