Check out the special assembly steps of the Camry Hybrid on the production line at Toyota's Manufacturing plant in Georgetown, Kentucky. The hour-long assembly line tour begins at the visitor center, and after everyone is outfitted with headset and safety glasses and views a short introductory movie, groups of sixteen are taken through the 172-acre facility on motorized trams with a tour guide detailing all the interesting aspects of the assembly process. No surprise that our eye was on the hybrids during the tour. Toyota assembles them on the same line with the conventional models, with different stops along the way to install the battery and wiring harness. Here's a handful of photos detailing the Camry Hybrid's specific assembly steps.
Several tour times are available each day M-F and prior registration is required through the Toyota website. Tour participants need to be identified by name, and adults must have photo ID at entrance. It's a well-worth-your-time visit.
