36-volt NiMH hybrid battery

The 36-volt nickel-metal hydride battery is housed in the area behind the fold-down rear seats. This battery stores the power used to apply mild electric motor assist under acceleration, as well as restarting the engine after the at-idle hybrid shut-down.
