This is the car that really started it all. Though it wasn't the first hybrid vehicle to land on America's shores, it has become the most popular and best-selling model of the ever expanding selection of hybrids available. This Touring Edition Prius was just fun to use and we couldn't help but smile every time we climbed behind the wheel (it was so hard to return it to the fleet). The car has suprisingly crisp and responsive handling, the ride is smooth and sure footed and yes, of course, the fuel mileage was stellar--that's what attracts most Prius buyers. This little car consistently delivers an average of better than 50 MPG with tailpipe emissions that leave even the most hard-core "environmentologist" with nary a complaint.
